Warranty Policy

1. General Coverage

ScorpionEXO helmets are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 5 years from original purchase date or 7 years from manufacturing date, whichever comes earlier.

Helmet accessories including visors (face shields), sunshields (sun visors), and comfort liners (such as cheek pads and crown liners) are warranted against material and manufacturing defects for 1 year from the original purchase date. Helmet’s electronic accessories (i.e., EXO-530i Air’s LED rear vent) are warrantied against material and manufacturing defects for 2 years from the original purchase date. ScorpionEXO does not provide warranty coverage for helmets purchased outside the customer’s country of residence, or for helmets bought in one country and used in another, due to differences in regulatory standards and certification requirements between countries. If your Product needs to be warrantied, contact the retailer where you purchased it. You may need to carry your purchase receipt along with your helmet.

2. Waiver

This warranty is limited to the repair and replacement of parts and the necessary labor, and services required to repair the helmet and/or accessory (“Product”). It does not cover normal wear and tear, or any damage resulting from misuse, neglect, improper storage, impacts due to accidents, or display. It is recommended to read the below not only to keep your warranty valid but also for your safety.

• A. Modification of any kind made to the Product by the user, or any third party will render this warranty invalid. This includes but is not limited to the installation of audio systems, drilling the shell or liner, carving, or compressing the EPS liner, and painting of the shell.
• B. Normal wear and tear of all kinds, including fades of the finished and painted surfaces, abnormal treatment or abuse of the helmet interior is NOT covered under this warranty. This warranty also does NOT cover chips, scratches, abrasions or other damage to the product, including but not limited to the helmet’s outer shell, painted surfaces, and visor caused by contact with another surface or object.
• C. If the Product is inappropriately stored, or displayed in an extreme circumstance, it cannot be covered by warranty regardless of whether the Product is used or not. The Product should not be kept in an improper condition, including but not limited to:
• 
  
  – Exposure to elements: Rain, snow, excessive sunlight, etc.
  – Extreme temperatures: Heat or cold beyond limits.
  – Moisture and humidity: Vulnerable to mold, rust, or other moisture-related damage.
  – Improper handling: Dropping, crushing, or other physical damage during storage.
  – Contamination: Exposure to chemicals or other substances that cause damage.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All dyed/pigmented fabrics, polycarbonates (i.e.: helmets) and vinyl will fade under UV exposure (sunlight) over time. ScorpionEXO fabrics are highly UV resistant, but HI-VIS (neon) fabrics will fade at a faster rate than normal fabrics under the same UV exposure. This is a normal property of all HI-VIS (neon) pigments/fabrics and is not considered a manufacturer defect.

This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties and any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. ScorpionEXO shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. Some U.S. states or countries do not allow exclusion or limitation of implied warrantied, incidental, or consequential damages, so the above limitation and exclusion may not apply to you. At the discretion of ScorpionEXO and upon inspection, ScorpionEXO will either repair or replace the original item with the same item. If the original item is no longer available, a comparable item will be substituted at the discretion of ScorpionEXO.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, depending on where you purchased the helmet(s) and/or where you live.

3. Specific Information by Region and Homologation Type

IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT USE A SCORPIONEXO HELMET THAT DOES NOT BEAR THE SPECIFIC HOMOLOGATION OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW IN YOUR COUNTRY OR REGION OF RESIDENCE AND USE. Riding with a non-homologated or certified helmet is illegal in many jurisdictions and may severely compromise your safety, invalidate your manufacturer warranty, and void insurance coverage.

Helmet testing standards and legal regulations vary significantly by country. Each ScorpionEXO helmet model is specifically engineered, constructed, and certified to meet the legal requirements of the specific region where it is intended for official distribution and use.

A. The United States (DOT FMVSS No. 218)

Helmets sold and shipped into the U.S. require DOT certification (Department Of Transportation FMVSS No. 218). As a result, any helmet manufactured for markets other than the U.S. and sold/shipped into the U.S. is considered a violation of Federal and State laws.

It is for this reason that our warranty is limited to ScorpionEXO helmets manufactured for the U.S. market. For any ScorpionEXO helmet purchased outside the U.S., all warranty questions and/or claims must be directed to the country where the helmet was originally intended.

On valid warranty claims, the customer is responsible for all costs associated with sending the product to ScorpionEXO. Any added accessories should be removed as ScorpionEXO is not responsible for damages or lost items included with returned merchandise.

B. Europe (UNECE R22.06)

In most European countries, it is mandatory for the helmet and visor to comply with UN Regulation No. 22. The most recent version of the regulation is R22.06. All ScorpionEXO helmets being sold in Europe carry the ECE Type Approval mark. This proves the helmet is manufactured for Europe market.

If your Product needs to be warrantied, contact the retailer where you purchased it. You may need to carry your purchase receipt along with your helmet.

The retailer will then be able to initiate the after-sales service procedure with ScorpionEXO tech team to have your Product checked and repaired.

For the Product purchased outside Europe, all warranty questions and/or claims must be directed to the country where it belongs.

C. China (CCC, or 3C)

The CCC (China Compulsory Certification) is an obligatory safety certification required to all helmets sold and shipped into China.

All ScorpionEXO helmets being sold in China by our official distributor comply with CCC and have the certification mark. This proves you can legally wear the helmet and ride in China.

For the Product purchased outside China, all warranty questions and/or claims must be directed to the country where it belongs.

D. Other Regions/Countries

ScorpionEXO helmets comply with major mandatory homologations like DOT, ECE, and CCC. Before wearing the helmet, check its homologation type is legally accepted in your country/region.
